consultmybooks: (Stay Out of My Way)
[The voice that speaks over the journals that afternoon is tired and tense.]

If someone could tell me what day it is, I would appreciate it.

And, um, what month.

...probably the cycle year as well, just to be safe.

Do I really count as a "New Feather" all over again? I always thought that was a silly name.

[The sound of a sigh.] And should I be concerned about the ocean on the map? I know that wasn't there before.

Oh, and the draft. Catherine and that fiasco underwater. Does that have anything to do with it?

[Giles is currently sitting in the forest, against a small cliff of stones by the river. Occasionally, he tries to work the ache out of his back as his body tries to adjust yet again to the presence of the wings. He idly flips a few pages in his journal as he waits and hopes for a reply. Map, guide, posting.

Just like a computer, only more him-friendly.

He was glad that the journal hadn't turned itself on this time. He'd been shaken and confused when he first woke up here, into the light and out of the dark, and the time to gather his thoughts - and his memories - had helped. It was giving him a bit of a headache, but it helped.

"Where do we go from here?" Had they ever answered that question? Well, for Giles, the answer was suddenly further away than ever.

It was overcast the day he went home. And now the sun is yet again refusing to shine. It makes things easier, really - Giles isn't really certain that he could go from the quiet of death to full sunlight and people. Not quite yet.

The Malnosso had the decency to leave his clothes nearby free of bloodstains and tears. Giles changes and tosses the New Feather pants into a tree. But eventually, after another few minutes, he gets to his feet and starts walking. It isn't too far, not from where he woke up - in another two hours, he's back amidst the hustle and bustle of the village plaza.

Everything still feels a bit like a dream. But memories are coming back, settling into place. There are motions to go through, and so he goes through them. Welcome Center, to get an apartment. All Passions, to find some clothes. Item store and weapon shop, to see what his captors have decided to let through the Barrier.

And then, oh yeah. Food.

Even without the pants, the older man pacing the plaza throughout the day is clearly a New Feather. Whether it's the way he keeps trying to rub the ache out of his shoulders, the way he keeps consulting the map, or the way he looks just plan
overwhelmed and the way he keeps staring around the plaza? All probably a clue.

Stop and help?]

((ooc: Despite the apparent rigidity of the timeline, feel free to stop him anywhere from the forest to a shop in the plaza or even one of the houses/community buildings near the plaza. This is really just his plan of attack, so it can be interrupted. He doesn't visit any of the shops in any particular order, and I'll just assume that he gets through everything at some point throughout the day. Someone willing to accompany him on the scavenger hunt would be equally appreciated.

In other words - timeline? What timeline?

EDIT - holy hell, so many people. Um...many, many, many apologies if I'm slow in getting to you. I will get to everyone it's just, um...wow.))
